Our Board

We are blessed to have an amazing board of dedicated members who lend their time and talents to camp.

Rev. Alex Bisset – Convenor

The Rev. Alex “Manu” Bisset joined the Board in 2012, and has been its convener since October, 2014. Part of his role on the Board involves serving as the clergy mentor for the Synod Presbyterian Young Peoples’ Society (PYPS).
Alex is the minister of Westminster and Riverdale Presbyterian Churches, a two-point charge in the Pape and Danforth area of Toronto. He is one of three co-Directors of East York Strategy (EYS), an organization which provides opportunities for youth in East York to interact with community leaders and other youth in positive ways, through evening sports programs, after-school drop-ins, and summer day camps. He is also the President of the Board of Directors of Westminster Court Senior’s Housing Corporation of East York, and chaplain of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10. Alex is the Clerk of the Presbytery of East Toronto, and previously served for 6 years as the convener of the Presbytery’s Administration Committee. He has also previously served on the Boards of the Flemingdon Community Mission (FCM) and the Ecumenical Chaplaincy at the University of Toronto (ECUT).
Alex holds a B.A. in history and English literature from Wilfrid Laurier, an M.A. in medieval literature from the University of Toronto, and an M.Div. from Knox College. Before entering the ministry, he spent ten years as a lexicographer with Oxford University Press Canada. Alex is married to the Rev. Emily Bisset, and has three children: Maggie, Robert, and Rachel.

Natasha Crompton- Dunn- Marketing

Natasha "Plinko" Crompton-Dunn joined the board in 2012 as the secretary - she was eager to get her feet wet and take detailed notes at every meeting! Currently, she advises in the area of marketing and promotions.  Natasha has been attending camp for over 20 years in all different capacities: a camper, an LIT, camp staff, and alumni. She cherishes the time spent on staff from 2000-2005 where she held many roles including Counsellor, Music & Drama, Adventure Programming, Integration, and the Outdoor Education Centre Director.
All the joys at camp eventually led her to her career in education.  She is an elementary school teacher in Halton and loving every minute of her fast-paced job. She enjoys leadership development and any opportunities where she can take a facilitator or mentor role within her school and school board.
In her spare time, she can be found watching Netflix with Topia and Scout, having amazing adventures with old camp friends, and planning the next camping or travel adventure.

Rev. Bethany McCaffrey – Board Secretary

Bethany “Tetra” McCaffrey joined the board as Secretary in 2015. Bethany has been involved in camping ministry at a variety of camps in Ontario and Manitoba off-and-on since 2004 and is the mom to two future campers. She is thrilled to be able to participate in the ministry of our Synod Camp.
Bethany is the Minister at Melville Presbyterian Church in Scarborough.
When not chasing two pre-schoolers, Bethany enjoys watching spy-dramas, knitting, and drinking copious amounts of coffee. She also shares her love of horses with her daughters and takes them riding as often as possible.

Lisa Riess – Human Resources

Lisa "Flint" Riess joined the board in May 2012 and has oversight of the Human Resources function.
Lisa was first introduced to the camping world in 1983 when her mom was the camp nurse at Glen Mhor. She quickly fell in love with the beautiful surroundings, great friends and camp community and was hooked for life! A long time camper, staff member, alumni and now board member, Lisa continues to dedicate her time to a place she holds so dear.
In her day-to-day life Lisa is a duo-property Human Resources Manager in the hospitality industry. Lisa has a diploma in Hospitality Management as well as a Post Graduate diploma in Human Resources Management and is currently studying Psychology at McMaster University.
She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and the arts.

Todd Savill – Treasurer

Todd Savill has been with our camp board since 2013 as Treasurer. He has also been a part of camp as both a parent and a volunteer since 2001. During the summer, he lends his culinary expertise for our staff during training, Family Camp, and also organizes and leads our staff end of summer banquet.
