TFTEF in Baysville

Last Thursday night the Cairn staff camped out at the climbing wall with songbooks, marshmallows, and lots of blankets for the first Thanks for the Evening Friends (TFTEF) Fundraiser. In case you missed it – here is the idea:

We’re asking families to host a “Camp Night” this Spring. Invite your neighbours, friends and extended family to join you for an evening together outside. Serve food, enjoy good company, have a campfire, sleep in tents – the whole bit. We will do the same thing at camp – have the entire staff sleep outside after a great campfire near the climbing wall. Best of all, we’ll all try to do this on the exact same night! As we party and pray in different places all over Ontario, we’ll share the things that make the nights truly special – the stars, the moon, the atmosphere, and the spirit of camp. It will be wonderful.

The fundraising part is this. We’ll ask each family to donate the money they would spend to rent a hotel room for a night to camp. Your family doesn’t get room service :) , but you do get the opportunity to have your friends and neighbours join you for a night of celebration and community.

If you didn’t get to it on Saturday night, don’t worry. You can still invite your friends, neighbors and family to participate at another date. The Cairn staff held our TFTEF night on Thursday because we had the Jr. Farmers here over the weekend. It was a great opportunity to focus on community and togetherness and we had a blast doing it!

If you have photos and stories from your own TFTEF event, send them our way and I will blog about them and add them to our album on Facebook.
If you are still planning on having your event, you can view the package here.

Check out the photos of our TFTEF event on the Cairn Facebook page.
