Volunteer Your Time at Camp

Spend a few days at camp this spring, summer or fall.

• Stain a cabin
• Chop some wood
• Paint a sign
• Haul some brush
• Share one of your gifts and talents with our staff or campers.

Talk at Your Church

Become a Cairn ambassador and make an announcement at your church about the amazing programmes that Cairn has to offer. We will send you brochures and a Power Point presentation.  Help us spread the Word!

Donate to the Wish List

Do you have items sitting in your garage, attic or basement that we could use at Cairn? Check out our Wish List (downloadable version: click here). We will make arrangements to pick your items up in May or June.

Donate to Camp

Cairn is part of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, a charity registered with the Canada Revenue Agency.  For any donations that you make to Camp, we will issue a receipt for tax purposes.

Pray for Camp

In 2009, we will be developing a Prayer Chain, to ensure that we are giving our Churches and supporters an opportunity to pray about specific needs at Cairn.  If you’re interested in praying for camp, and would like to be included in our prayer chain, please contact Adam “Taps” Brown at the camp office: taps@ilovecamp.org.

Prayer Requests for Risk:

• Pray for discernment as we hire our 2009 Staff Team.  We have already hired our Resource Staff, and we’ll be hiring over 30 counsellors before the end of the month.  These people are absolutely essential to the well-being of Cairn, and we’re so excited for our staff team in 2009!
  
• Pray for families who are considering camp for the first time.  It is not an easy decision to send children to a new place, and it is our hope that families see the benefit of Christian camping for their children.
• Pray for our Camp Board members who give so much energy, time and love to Cairn.  Without these dedicated souls camp would simply be impossible.  Our prayer would be that our Board Members continue to feel God’s call in their ministry, and feel supported and loved by the camp community.
• Pray for our returning campers, who have gone 6-7 months with no camp in their life.  Pray that those children and young adults are being shown Christian love and community in their homes and schools, and that they are looking forward to another summer of songs, dancing in the dining hall and canoe trips.

Pray For Our Staff

Our Staff come from High Schools, Universities, Colleges and Work Places all across Ontario and Canada.  They bring a WEALTH of abilities to this job, and are truly called to do the work they do at camp.

Summer starts in less than 5 months, and we have some prayer requests as our Staff prepare themselves for another fantastic camp season.

• Please pray that our University students find meaning and success in their studies.  University can be a lonely, challenging place, and we pray that our Staff are demonstrating their faith, leadership and cleverness to their entire community.
• Pray for our High School students who are busy thinking about their Post-Secondary options.  We would ask that they would have an ear for God’s plan, and the gumption to follow it.
• Pray for our Staff who are moving onto the workplace.  It’s a scary world out there, and they need all the support they can get.
